In 2008, Flow Science set up a wholly-owned subsidiary Flow Science Software Trading Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China. In 2018, Suzhou office was established to provide direct sales and technical support services to FLOW-3D customers in China. FLOW-3D focuses on free surface and multi-phase applications, serving a broad range of industries including water civil infrastructure, aerospace, additive manufacturing, laser welding and metal casting.

FLOW-3D AM offers a modeling platform for various additive manufacturing processes based on discrete element method and computational fluid dynamics, including laser powder bed fusion, binder jetting and directed energy deposition. The free surface tracking algorithm and multi-physics can accurately simulate powder spreading, melt pool dynamics, porosity formation, infiltration and spreading, and analyze and optimize process parameters.
