Institute of New Materials, Guangdong Academy of Sciences (GINM) is one of the backbone institutes of Guangdong Academy of Sciences. The institute has more than 260 employees and owns an excellent team led by two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Zhou Kesong and Professor Pan Fusheng. With a history of over 40 years, GINM plays an important role in research and integrated application of basic and key generic technologies in the field of new materials. The institute has engaged in research and application of modern surface engineering technologies including thermal spray, vacuum coating, and laser processing. Besides, GINM specialized in R&D of high-performance non-ferrous metals materials, advanced steel and iron materials, metal-matrix composite materials, powder metallurgy materials, as well as materials calculation and data.
